Fighter Cards
Overview
Fighter Cards represent the combatants you can use in MetaFight. These cards feature professional MMA fighters and are characterized by attributes such as weight class, status, country, organization, gym affiliation, and a score reflecting their real-world MMA ranking.
Key Features
Special Moves: Each Fighter Card comes with a randomly assigned Special Move. This move can be exclusive and modifiable under certain conditions. Special Moves provide unique abilities that can give your fighters a strategic edge in combat.
Physical Stats: Fighters have initial physical stats (e.g., strength, explosiveness, flexibility) that start at zero and can evolve with the right equipment. These stats determine a fighter's effectiveness in various combat scenarios.
Equipment Slots: Each Fighter Card includes slots for Head, Hand, and Leg Equipment Cards, allowing you to customize and enhance your fighters' abilities. Properly equipping your fighters can significantly improve their performance.
Fighter Equipment Cards
There are three main types of Fighter Equipment Cards: Head, Hand, and Leg. Each type influences different aspects of your fighters' performance.
Head Equipment Cards
Purpose: Define or enhance a fighter's combat style, whether it be Striking, Wrestling, or Grappling. Head Equipment Cards are crucial for setting the foundation of your fighters' approach to combat.
Bonuses: Provide up to two bonuses, including specialization acquisition or modification and reduction of opponent's specializations. These bonuses can help you gain a tactical advantage by maximizing your fighters' strengths and minimizing their weaknesses.
Hand Equipment Cards
Purpose: Influence physical stats and moves/combos. These cards are essential for improving a fighter's offensive and defensive capabilities.
Bonuses: Offer up to two bonuses, such as multiplicative stat boosts or additive accuracy bonuses for specific moves. Enhancing hand equipment can lead to more precise and powerful strikes, making your fighters more formidable in combat.
Leg Equipment Cards
Purpose: Provide additive bonuses to combat schools (e.g.: BJJ, Boxing, Sambo) or physical stats. Leg Equipment Cards can enhance a fighter's agility, power, and technical skills.
Bonuses: Each card can offer up to two additive bonuses, focusing on different aspects than the Hand Equipment Cards. Proper leg equipment can improve a fighter's overall mobility and effectiveness in various combat styles.
Gym Cards
Gym Cards serve as the terrain cards in MetaFight, enabling participation in various game modes. Each Gym Card includes five distinct bonuses:
Fighter Capacity: Determines how many fighters can join the gym, a larger fighter capacity allows you to train more fighters simultaneously, increasing your strategic options.
Coach Slots: Provides effects that apply to all fighters in the gym. Coaches can provide critical training and strategic insights that enhance your fighters' abilities.
Fight Enhancement Capacity: Defines the number of Fight Enhancement Cards usable in combat. These enhancements can turn the tide of battle by providing temporary boosts and strategic advantages.
Gym Equipment Slots: Affect all fighters in the gym. Proper gym equipment can improve your fighters' training efficiency and overall performance. Players will freely use any Gym Equipment they own, regardless of their categories (Defensive or more Exercise oriented ones)
Secondary Stat Bonuses: Provides two additive bonuses to secondary stats for all fighters in the gym. These bonuses can enhance various aspects of your fighters' performance, giving them an edge in combat.
Gym Equipment Cards
Gym Equipment Cards come in two types: Defensive Gear and Exercise Machines. Coach Cards are related to the Gym, but not considered as Equipment. Each type of bonus offers unique advantages.
Defensive Gear Cards
Purpose: Offer conditional bonuses to enhance specializations. Defensive Gear Cards can provide crucial advantages in specific combat scenarios.
Bonuses: Include stat boosts for specific equipment, increased damage after losing a round, or even specialization affinity modifications. These cards add unpredictability and strategic depth, enabling comebacks in seemingly unwinnable fights.
Exercise Machine Cards
Purpose: Boost physical stats and allow conversion of undesired stat bonuses into desired ones. Exercise Machines are essential for optimizing your fighters' physical conditioning.
Bonuses: Offer two types of bonuses, enhancing specific physical attributes and providing flexibility in stat management. Proper use of Exercise Machine Cards can make your fighters more resilient and versatile.
Coach Cards
Coach Cards enhance combat styles and provide specific bonuses. They are a crucial part of developing a fighter's capabilities and optimizing performance in the gym.
Each card offers four specific bonuses:
Combat Specialization: Each Coach Card provides a specialization in Striking, Wrestling, or Grappling to all fighters in the gym. This bonus ensures that fighters are well-trained in a specific combat style, improving their effectiveness in that area.
Combat School Specialization: In addition to a combat style, each Coach Card offers a specialization in a specific combat school, such as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), Boxing, or Sambo. This bonus further refines the fighters' skills, aligning them with the techniques and strategies of a particular martial art.
Move or Combo Bonus: Coaches also provide bonuses to specific moves, sets of moves, or combos. Depending on the coachβs specialty, this could mean enhanced power, accuracy, or reduced stamina cost for certain moves, or even new combos that make the fighters more versatile and dangerous in combat.
Group Bonus: If multiple Fighter Cards from the same organization or country are registered in the gym, a Coach Card can provide a group bonus. This bonus leverages the fighters' shared background, fostering team cohesion and amplifying their combined effectiveness.
These cards feature renowned professional MMA coaches as well as special "MetaFight" coaches. Each coach brings their unique expertise and training philosophy, offering diverse benefits to the fighters they train.
Fight Enhancement Cards
Before each combat, players can select 1 to 2 Fight Enhancement Cards. These cards modify various combat aspects, adding strategic depth. They can influence damage, accuracy, stamina, and introduce special effects, providing a crucial edge in battles. Choosing the right Fight Enhancement Cards can significantly impact the outcome of a fight, giving you the upper hand when it matters most.
Move Cards
Move Cards are a vital component of the game, allowing managers to equip their fighters with specific moves. These moves can be unlocked through the skill tree or by obtaining certain cards (some Moves are cards exclusives). They can also be used by all fighters under a manager's control.
Some moves can be unlocked through the skill tree, which provides a structured progression system for enhancing a fighter's capabilities. Other moves are exclusive to certain cards, adding a layer of strategy in collecting and utilizing these unique abilities.
If a manager has already unlocked a move through the skill tree and also possesses a card featuring the same move, they can leverage the card to unlock additional bonuses. This dual unlocking mechanism can significantly enhance the effectiveness of the move, offering strategic depth to the game.
Combo Cards
Combo Cards enable managers to teach new combos to their fighters, optimizing stamina use and providing execution bonuses for performing a series of moves in a specific order.
Combos range from 2 to 5 moves, offering flexibility in specialization or mixed sequences. This flexibility allows you to tailor your strategy to your fighters' strengths and weaknesses.
They also simplify move management in advanced gameplay by allowing direct combo selection once all required moves are unlocked. This feature helps streamline combat and make complex strategies easier to execute.
Strategy for Building your Deck
Equip your Fighters with enough Equipment Cards: Ensure your deck includes a mix of fighters and equipment to cover various combat styles and enhance physical stats. A balanced deck allows you to adapt to different opponents and scenarios.
Maximize Gym Card Benefits: Use your Gym Card the best way that complements your fighters and play style. Consider the fighter capacity, coach slots, and the types of gym equipment it can accommodate to maximize the benefits.
Strategize with Move and Combo Cards: Select moves and combos that align with your fightersβ strengths and your overall strategy. Efficient use of stamina and execution bonuses can provide a significant advantage in fights.
Utilize Gym Equipment Wisely: Equip your gym with Defensive Gear, Exercise Machines, and Coaches that provide the most strategic advantages. Tailor your gym equipment to enhance the specific strengths and mitigate the weaknesses of your fighters.
Leverage Fight Enhancement Cards: Use Fight Enhancement Cards to gain the upper hand in crucial moments. These cards can turn the tide of battle by modifying combat dynamics to your favor.
By understanding and effectively utilizing each card type, you can build a powerful and strategic deck in MetaFight, enhancing your chances of victory in the game. This comprehensive approach will ensure that you are well-prepared to face any challenge and emerge victorious.
